Every Tippet Tomb purchased directly supports ongoing research on the Brazos River focused on improving water quality monitoring through fly-fishing citizen science, lead by our co-owner, Holli Grant. 

This project brings together trained recreational anglers and scientists to expand monitoring in under-studied stretches of the river. Volunteers collect data on water quality and aquatic life, including temperature, dissolved oxygen, and macroinvertebrates—key indicators of stream health. These observations are then compared with professional datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability, helping build a stronger, more complete picture of river conditions over time.

By increasing both the reach and frequency of monitoring, this work helps identify changes in ecosystem health that might otherwise go undetected, supporting better management and conservation decisions.
